About Us | |||
At ATS Electrolysis, our clients' comfort, privacy, and safety are of the utmost concern. Our office follows the standards set forth by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), including sterilization of all instruments and the use of sterile disposable probes. In addition, our environment is latex free. Being a licensed and Certified Professional Electrologist (CPE) means the electrologist has passed an assessment and has been certified as having the ability to perform to a set of standards and adhere to a lifelong commitment to learning. The CPE certification sets standards for performance, ethics, and continuing education through recertification. The license is issued by the Electrology Advisory Committee of the State Board of Medical Examiners of N.J. and by the Delaware Board of Cosmetology and Barbering. Electrology is either of two electrical depilation methods for the permanent removal of human hair. At ATS Electrolysis, we perform a method of electrolysis called thermolysis. The process uses a metal probe 50 to 150 µm (0.002 to 0.006 inches) in diameter which is inserted into the hair follicle to the depth of the dermal papilla. Thermolysis allows more depilations in less time, typically 1–4 seconds per insertion, compared to other methods of electrolysis. The blend and galvanic methods take 15 seconds to several minutes per insertion. Thermolysis is also less painful. |
